The Wild West Precision Rimfire is a local club of the National Rifle League 22 (NRL22); a division of the National Rifle League which is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the growth and education of precision rifle shooting. The NRL22 was created to provide a way for shooters that are looking to get into the sport of precision rifle shooting the opportunity to do so without having to invest a lot of money in gear and travel. The NRL22 program is designed so that any facility with a 100 yard range can participate in local competitions to qualify for a National Championship.
 
At the Cody Shooting Complex, the Wild West Precision Rimfire Club shoots the monthly NRL22 Course of Fire following the rules and divisions outlined on nrl22.org. The club encourages those new to shooting sports to come observe or participate in a match, especially, Young Guns (youth), Ladies, and Old Guns/Adaptive (those who could benefit from adapting the course of fire to their physical abilities). Match dates and times are listed on the Cody Shooting Complex Calendar, and match registration is facilitated through practicescore.com.
